The DeSoto County School District officially took the wraps off its newest learning facility in a ribbon-cutting event for the new Career Technology Center-West located on Kuykendall Lane off Interstate Blvd. and south of Goodman Road in Horn Lake Thursday morning.
The building, worth about $12 million, began holding classes in nine vocational education programs for students attending high schools in Southaven, Horn Lake, Hernando, Lake Cormorant and DeSoto Central back in August. Some delay in the start of some of the programs at their assigned space in the building took place as weather slowed the construction of the building located on land given the district by the city of Horn Lake.
