Entergy’s MISO Membership Supports Savings and Reliability

Entergy is a member of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc., an essential link in the safe, cost-effective delivery of electric power across 15 U.S. states. MISO and its members find new ways to strengthen the reliability of our region’s interconnected transmission network, using real-time smart grid technology to benefit all consumers of electricity. MISO’s transparent market operations, value-based regional planning, and independence help us build a stronger, more reliable electric grid.

Over the past five years, Entergy has contributed nearly $82 Million in donations to local nonprofit organizations that help improve and grow our communities.

In 2015, Entergy launched a $5 million, 5-Year Workforce Readiness Initiative within the four-state Entergy Region to include the two following programs:

Entergy Workforce Training Grants

for improving the quality of the existing talent pool through development or expansion of programs that produce trained, certified workers. The population served will be unemployed/underemployed adults. Grants ranging from $50k to $250k annually will be awarded to community colleges, universities, vocational training programs, workforce commissions and/or economic development organizations.

Entergy School-to-Career Readiness Grants

for improving the talent pipeline by ensuring that students graduate from high school with the necessary skills to transition successfully to career or college/secondary training. The population served will be high school students and unemployed/underemployed young adults age 21 and under. Under this program grants ranging from $50k to $250k annually will be awarded to public schools and NGOs.

We strive to be a leading corporate citizen and are proud to have been named in 2019 to the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index. This was the 18th consecutive year Entergy was included on either the World or North America index or both. In 2017, for the eighth time, the company was named to CR Magazine’s ranking of “Top 100 Best Corporate Citizens”, and for the second consecutive year, Entergy appeared in the top five in the area of philanthropy and community support. CR Magazine, America’s leading voice on corporate social responsibility, rates companies annually for performance in seven categories: environment, climate change, human rights, employee relations, governance, philanthropy and financial performance.
