Entergy Texas Plans New Substation Sites Along Interstate 45, Studies Transmission Line Route Options

Entergy is planning to build new substations along Interstate 45, and the FM 1097 segment across Lake Conroe remains a proposed route option for transmission lines.

The director of Customer Service for the West Region of Entergy Texas presented an update on Montgomery County’s new $1 billion natural gas-fired power plant’s proposed transmission line routes and other future substations during the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce‘s membership luncheon at the April Sound Country Club Thursday.

As an electrical engineer with almost 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry, Allen East’s service area begins at the Trinity River and includes New Caney, Cleveland, Huntsville, Navasota, Willis, Conroe, and The Woodlands.

His company serves as the interface between the customer, Entergy Texas, and the Public Utility Commission. East is responsible for the engineering, construction and service of the distribution facilities serving almost 250,000 customers in the West Region.
